Cedefop's European skills and jobs survey 2.0

A new take on the 1st Cedefop survey, now taking into account recent economic and policy changes.

Following the 1st edition of Cedefop's European skills and jobs survey, new needs have arised due to current policy and research concerns.

The contemporary issues that the 2nd edition of Cedefop's survey brings to light involve the risk of replacing current jobs with automation, even if only partially - replacing some of its tasks but not an entire worker. Nonetheless, even though automation undoubtely poses as a concern, positive opportunities can also appear in this new era of digital technologies in skills and works.

This 2nd edition will have a stonger focus on the relationship between digitalisation and learning, studying the (potential) mismatch between the needs and the availability of the workers' digital skills. Are their skills obsolet in the current ever-changing technological world? Or are workers adapting their skill set to the new tasks and jobs of the new digital age?

Leading experts are currently refining their search and results can be expected as soon as 2020.
